Asylbewerber demonstrieren am Samstag (03.07.10) in Gifhorn (Niedersachsen) gegen menschenunwürdige Lebensbedingungen im Wohnheim Meinersen (Landkreis Gifhorn) und gegen die deutsche Flüchtlingspolitik. Sie fordern die Schließung des Wohnheims und die dezentrale Unterbringung in Wohnungen.

In einem Gutachten im Herbst 2009 hat der Flüchtlingsrat errechnet, dass eine Unterbringung der Asylbewerber in Wohnungen viel preiswerter für die Kommunen ist.

Police arrested a participant of the annual punk gathering in Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany on Saturday (15-may-10). Due to high police presence in the city centre the gathering was dissolved very soon. No one did buy this picture. An agency even argumented as there were not enough "trouble" and fights between the police and the punks, it would not be of interest. I only had some marginal trouble with the officer in the (right) background claiming later I'd had pushed him away...

این عکس رو حدود یک ماه پیش با یک دوربین فیلمی گرفتم، امروز رفتم نگاتیو ها رو از لابور تحویل گرفتم. نصف فیلم ها به خاطر یک مشکل دوربین که فکر می کنم گیر داشتن دریچه آن باشد، سوخته بود. خلاصه، سوژه آقای فروزانپور است، که در شهرستان بونده آلمان به همراه خانم عزیزش زندگی می کند. این زوج مدتی در این شهرک گلفروشی داشتند. من هم این افتخار رو پیدا کردم که یک روز قبل از تولد 75 سالگی وی به همراه دوست عزیزم آذرخش برای نهار میهمان این زوج نازنین باشم. این ماجرا حدود یک ماه پیش بود. دوست دارم دوباره به عکاسی آنالوگ برگردم.

The Ashura Aftermath - Berlin, Germany

After escalation of the Ashura ceremonies in Tehran and other major cities in Iran, causing many injuries and at least 4 death cases, Iranian exile people in Berlin organized a demonstration rally just after the Christmas holidays in the German capital. Despite of cold weather approximately 300 people took part at the rally.

Lillian Bassman & Paul Himmel Retrospective

The first retrospective exhibition of the photographers and the pair Lillian Bassman and Paul Himmel had its vernissage in Hamburg's "Haus der Photographie" (House of Photography) on November 26, 2009. Lillian Bassman had been the art director of "Harper's Bazaar" for several years, her photographic work has been published in internationally reknowned magazines such as "Vogue".

Human Conditions at Noorderlicht Photofestival 2009

Groningen, Netherlands where the Noorderlicht Photofestival 2009 was held with the theme of "Human Conditions".

A visitor watchs the Exhibition "Point of No Return", which contains news agency photographs from the Gaza War in December 2008 and January 2009 which where gathered together by the Magnum photographer Stuart Franklin. This Exhibition was followed by a conflict between the Exhibition's curator and the Associated Press (AP), for the AP has forced Noorderlicht to remove Stuart Franklin's editorial. On Sunday (21-June-2009) about 5000 people demonstrated in a 4 hour long rally in Berlin against the supression of Iranian people by the Islamic Republic regime as well against the presidential coup d'état of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. MP Claudia Roth (Bündnis90/Grüne, German Green Party) gave a speech in which she supported the position of the protesters.

For the 45th time the political leaders of the world are holding their annual meeting - Munich Security Conference (MSC) - in Germany from 6th to 8th February 2009. On Saturday 7th February a large demonstration was held in Munich in which about 5000 people from different walks of life took part. Below are photographs of this event.

"NATO goes Baden-Baden" is a pun, as the next NATO summit is going to be held in the German city of Baden-Baden in April 2009, while in German slang "baden" means "to drown".

Once again, on Saturday (9th-jan-2009) about 5000 people went on the streets in Munich (Germany) to protest against the war on Gaza-Strip. This time the German media was officially present for the first time.

This placard says: "No to Genocide".

The Protest march in one of Munich's main streets.

The slogan on the buggy says: "Freedom for Palestine".

The protesters marched for about 3 hours in a cold but sunny weather.

"This is the western Democracy".

The march forward.

People from all walks of life took part in the protest march.

This bill addresses the German media: "...Stop your Disinformation... It is a part of the freedom of speech to cover Israel's massacre...".

The march ended in front of the Munich City Hall, where the final rally was addressed by several speakers including a representative from the German Left Party.
